David E Harr, 91, of Willow Grove, passed away on December 4, 2021 at Foulkeways at Gwynedd.
David was born in Philadelphia, PA to Arlene and David W on October 31, 1930. He attended Germantown High School. He married Jeanne Kramer on June 14, 1952 in Germantown, PA. He graduated from Franklin and Marshall College with a Bachelors of Arts degree and received a Master’s in Education at Temple University. He worked as a History Teacher at Cheltenham High School and a High School administrator and Athletic Director at Abington and Upper Dublin High Schools. He was a veteran of The Korean War and served in the Army and was awarded with an honorable discharge as a Corporal. He was a founding member of the Reformed Church of Willow Grove, inducted into the PA Hall of Fame, served on the Executive Council of PA State Athletic Director Association, Chairman of 6 sports in the Suburban One League, Chairman of 3 sports in the PIAA District 1, received lifetime achievement award from the Suburban 1 League in 2002 and was inducted into the inaugural Upper Dublin Hall of Fame in 2005.
David is survived by his only sister Betty Lou Myers of Albuquerque, NM; children David A Harr (June), Maribeth Bieger (Tony), Debbie Stanutz (Kevin), Patti Greenwood (Tom), 10 grandchildren and 3 great grand-children. David is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years Jeanne Kramer.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial service on Thursday, December 9 at 4pm at St. Alphonsus Parish, 33 Conwell Drive; Maple Glen, PA. Family will receive condolences in the narthex at St. Alphonsus beginning at 2:30pm. Burial will be private.
Memorials may be given to the Upper Dublin Education Foundation.
