Dennis Michael Brown was born on September 16, 1952 in Philadelphia, PA. He was the son of Walter Brown and Winifred (Vigilante) Brown and the brother of Stephen Brown. He was also half-brother to Craig, Lisa and Denise Brown. Dennis attended grade school at Epiphany of Our Lord in South Philadelphia and then Bishop Neuman High School, also in Philadelphia. While attending Community College of Philadelphia and then Millersville University, he worked the presses at Triangle Publications on weekends until his graduation in 1975 from Millersville. He began his employment with IRS in 1976 in Philadelphia and in 1977 he married Mary Joan Iuliano. IRS transferred him to Wilkes-Barre in 1978 and then Silver Springs, MD in 1979 before returning him to the Philadelphia office, where he completed his 40 years of service. His wife, Mary, and his children, David and Christopher, were the main focus of his life. He immersed himself in the boys' education and activities becoming a coach for almost every sport they participated in and tutor for any school subject that needed improvement. During this time period, he completed a Masters of Taxation at Widner University and became a CPA. He also taught night courses in accounting at Montgomery County Community College and then Textile University in Philadelphia. His high energy and quick thinking were great assets to him but it was his kindness and caring love for others that most defined him. He was outgoing and pleasant and could converse on many levels with anyone. There was no favor too much to ask of him and he always had time for a friend in need. In 1991, Dennis and Mary bought a small condo in Ventnor City, NJ and he became a member of the Board of Governors which he served on for almost 28 years most of which he presided as president. It was in his beloved apartment at the beach that he came to his final rest on May 13, 2019. Although he had beaten several bouts of cancer and other ailments over the past 15 years, the battle took its toll on his health which he was unable to overcome. Dennis will be missed by everyone whose life he touched especially those who knew and loved him the most. Relatives and friends are invited to a funeral mass on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 11AM at the Epiphany of Our Lord RC Church, 3050 Walton Rd, Plymouth Meeting PA 19462. Friends may call after 9:30AM until 10:45 at the church. Interment will be private. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made in his name to the Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia.
