Dennis Lee Franklin, 74 (Glenside, PA) passed away after a long struggle with cancer. He died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on March 6, 2025.
Dennis was born on January 7, 1951 in Hempstead, L.I., New York. He served in the US Army with the 82nd Airborne. After many years of running his own business as a painter, he went back to school at the age of 40. He became a drug and alcohol counselor getting his degree in Certified Addictions Counseling. From his time counseling teens at the Bridge, counseling at Riverside and finally retiring as a Program Manager at Livengrin foundation. Dennis devoted 20+ years to helping others fight their addiction and reclaim their lives. Through the support of AA he was able to obtain 50 years of sobriety. He was always willing to lend an ear to anyone struggling.
Dennis had a passion for Golf, Music and playing the guitar.
Dennis is preceded in death by his father Lee Roy and mother Dawn Joan Franklin and brother Micheael Joseph Franklin.
Survived by his wife Gail Franklin, brother Bobby King, sisters Maureen Maycott, LeeAnne Morrison and Gail Stolp.
Also survived by his kids Patricia Franklin, Christopher Franklin (Annmarie), Laura Franklin, Dennis Franklin, Sharon Montgomery, Brian Franklin. His grandchildren Stephen, Ella , Ava, Alyssa, Bethany, Nicolette, Amelia, Nathan.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on March 13, 2025 at St Lukes the Evangelist Church 2316 Fairhill Ave, Glenside, PA 19038.
