Doris L. Beck

Doris L. Beck (nee Larsen), 83, of St. Augustine, FL formerly of Maple Glen, PA passed away peacefully at home on April 10, 2025.

Born on September 25, 1941, in Queens, NY to Andreas and Kristine Larsen, Doris was the youngest of three daughters. Doris married the love of her life, the late George J. Beck, on May 13, 1967 in Queens Village, NY. Doris is survived by her sons, George A (Doris C) and Rich (Sheri) and four grandchildren: Ryan, Tori, Jonathan and Cooper. She also leaves behind George’s son, Stephen and his children: Phillip (Morgan), Kenneth, and Amanda (AJ); her sister Alice as well as many cherished nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Sylvia.

Doris, being a first generation Norwegian-American, was active with the Sons of Norway throughout her life, taking on many active roles such as Children’s Director, Social Director and Lodge Delegate.

While living in Pennsylvania for over 40 years, she was active with the Women’s Association of the Supplee Presbyterian Church of which she was a devoted member of the congregation.

Doris worked for over 20 years and retired from the Prudential Insurance Company.

Doris was known for organizing many family reunions and her presence will be missed by many here in the USA and in Norway.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 am on Tuesday, April 15,2025, at Supplee Church, 855 East Welsh Road Maple Glen, PA 19002. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am with Pastor Rev. Dr. Kang-Yup Na officiating. Interment will follow at Whitemarsh Memorial Park Cemetery, 1169 Limekiln Pike, Ambler, PA 19002.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Doris’s name to St. Jude’s Hospital for Children.
