Elizabeth V. McQuade

Elizabeth V. McQuade, affectionately known as Beth, passed away on April 2, 2024 at Bryn Mawr Hospital at the age of 82. Born on May 6, 1941 to the late Reynolds and Hilda (née Mann) Herrington, she grew up in Butler, Kentucky where she attended Butler High School. After graduating from high school, she received a nursing degree at Bethesda Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. She furthered her education by earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in English at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois and a Master of Arts in English at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington. After moving to Pennsylvania, Beth worked as a project and purchasing manager at Fischbach and Moore, an electrical contracting firm in Bala Cynwyd. There she met and later married Lynn W. McQuade, and they were married for 23 years. Beth went on to earn her real estate license and was employed by Berkshire Hathaway in Haverford, Pennsylvania.

Beth loved to spend time with her family and friends. She was an excellent cook and baker, loved to travel and play the piano. She was an avid reader and met regularly with her book club friends. 

She is survived by six stepsons, Robert L. (Catherine) McQuade, John P. (Leanne) McQuade, Jeffrey S. (Joan) McQuade, Rick K. (Cynthia) McQuade, James J. (Diane), and Tim M. (Sharlene) McQuade, 16 grandchildren, 21 great-granchildren, and cousin Brent (Anita) Scharfenberger.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her late husband, Lynn W. McQuade.

Services will be announced at a later date. Beth's legacy of love, compassion, and generosity lives on in the hearts of those she touched.
