Horace L Howarth, Jr. of Ambler, PA passed away on September 22, 2015 at the age of 74. He was born September 18, 1941 son of the late Horace L Howarth Sr. and Mildred (Nee Fagan) and was the loving husband of Constance D (Nee O'Brien) formerly of Elkins Park, PA. Horace graduated from Del Haas High School, Rets Electronics and Montgomery County Community College. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy where he achieved the rank of Petty Officer Second Class and his stations included Memphis, TN and the submarine base in Concord, MA, maintaining his enlistment in the Navy Reserves. His career included 40 plus years of employment with both Acme Markets (retired in 2002) and the Philadelphia Inquirer (retired in 2008). Horace was a member of St Anthony Padua Church, Cub master for Pack 164 and spent many years as a volunteer coach for S. O. M. C. He is survived by his wife Constance, a marriage that has lasted just 5 months short of 50 years. Also surviving are his son Michael E, age 37, of Ambler and daughter Constance D. Howarth, age 45, also of Ambler. He was predeceased by his brother Leonard of Croydon, PA. A funeral mass will be held on Monday September 28, 2015 at 10:30am at St Anthony Padua Church, 259 Forest Ave, Ambler PA 19002. Friends and family may call after 9:30am at the church.
