Janice Oliver

Janice Oliver, 74, of Philadelphia, PA, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, in Abington, PA.

Janice was born in Philadelphia to Robert and Hazel Morris on April 27, 1950. She went to school in Philadelphia. She married David Oliver on March 23rd, 1983. Janice Oliver, née Morris, attended Kensington High School for Girls where she was a member of the 107th graduating class of June 1968. She worked as a civil service employee for the Internal Revenue Service and Social Security Administration for a combined 42 years. She was involved with the Edward J. Sabatini Scholarship Committee for many of those 42 years. The fund awarded scholarships to deserving students of Mid-Atlantic Social Security Service Center. She served as the coordinator for many years until its dissolution. 

Janice was a kind and loyal friend, with a caring heart that knew no bounds. She was an amazing wife, mom, sister, aunt, and daughter. Her smile and laughter would light up the room and she will be missed.

Janice is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Oliver; sisters-in-life Deborah Anderson, Joyce Gailliard, Evanette Morris, Kimberlyn White-Winters; a godson Robert Anderson; a goddaughter Ayanna Oglesby; nieces Jada Morris, Shanna White, Stephanie White-Winters, Symia White-Winters, Kaylah White-Winters; a host of grandbabies, friends and loved ones. 

Janice is preceded in death by her husband, David; her mother, Hazel Morris; her father, Robert L. Morris; her brothers Robert, Richard, Stephen, and sister Patricia. 

There will be memorial service Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Shaeff-Myers Funeral Home at 12 noon, with the Rev. Walter D. Horton. 

The family of Janice Oliver wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all of the doctors, nurses, physical and occupational therapists that helped care for her. Special thanks to her caregiver Tae Evans and Leigh Detweiller of DaVita for taking care of Mommy like she was their own.
