Jessica Rae Everill, 41, passed away on March 30, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones, holding her hands and stroking her hair. She left this world as she lived in it—loved deeply and embraced fully.
Born on April 25, 1983, in Salt Lake City, Utah, Jessica was raised by a large and loving family, growing up between Texas, Utah, and Pennsylvania. She was smart as a whip, meeting every challenge with either technical skill or sheer stubborn determination. As a teenager, she was both a thrill-seeker and an exceptional diver, always pushing limits and seeking new heights—whether in water or the sky.
Jessica carried that fearless spirit into adulthood, always chasing adventure. She was the first to say “What are we waiting for!”—whether it was riding horses on the beach, jumping out of planes, off waterfalls, playing with tiger cubs, or bungee jumping. But her greatest love was for her family, friends, and the countless animals she rescued along the way. From stray cats to injured birds and baby squirrels, Jessica had a heart big enough for all. She was a passionate advocate for animal welfare, supporting Pinups for Pitbulls and embodying the phrase, “Can I keep it?” when it came to any animal in need.
Jessica is survived by her mother, Laurie; her father, Darren; her step-father, Nicholas; her brothers and their fiance’s, Quintin and Abbie and Travis and Michelle; her sister, Karisha; and an extensive family that stretches across the country. She is reunited with those who passed before her—her grandmothers Sherry and LouGene, her grandfather Jack, and her beloved pets, Buster and Shorty. She also leaves behind her two cherished fur babies, Ruckus and Kaia, and the memory of her many adventures.
A celebration of life will be held in her honor in place of a traditional service. Details will be shared with family and close friends. The family kindly asks for privacy and space during this time.
Jessica’s legacy is one of courage, kindness, and boundless love. She taught us to embrace life with open arms, to seek adventure, and to never stop fighting for those who need us.
In her spirit, we share these words:
"The most beautiful people I've known are those who have known trials, have known struggles, have known loss, and have found their way out of the depths, and into the open sky." – Elisabeth Kübler-Ross
"Afoot and light-hearted I take to the open road, healthy, free, the world before me, the long brown path before me leading wherever I choose." – Walt Whitman
Rest easy, Jessica. Your adventure continues in the open sky.
