Leroy G. Reynolds

January 16, 1943 — October 31, 2024

Leroy George Reynolds, age 81, most recently of Ambler, PA passed away peacefully on October 31, 2024 in the home of his daughter surrounded by his family. He was born and raised in Derry, PA and lived most of his adult life in Latrobe, PA.

Leroy was born on January 16, 1943, to the late Dorothy Kinkead.

He married the former Janet Lee Casey on December 18, 1965 and they shared 57 years of marriage before her passing on July 7, 2023.

He was a graduate of Derry High School and following high school he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served as a crew chief on helicopters in Vietnam, going on to receive the purple heart for injuries he sustained while serving.

Following his honorable discharge from the Marine Corp, he worked for over three decades as a steelworker for Latrobe Steel.

He was a longtime member of Christ United Church of Christ in Latrobe before relocating closer to family in 2020. He was a loyal Pittsburgh Panthers and Pittsburgh Steelers fan, marathoner in his younger days, loved to read, and enjoyed watching any good shoot-em-up or war movie.

Leroy was most proud of his family and cared deeply for them all. He was especially proud that both of his daughters graduated college, as well as all seven of his grandchildren. Graduating college was an accomplishment he held dear having never attended college himself.

Leroy is survived by two daughters, Susan (Richard) Myers and Lara (Craig) Barrick; and seven grandchildren; Chris Lansford, Matt Lansford, Mitch (Grace) Barrick, Nick Myers, Jack Myers, Ashley Myers, and Thomas (Meredith) Myers.

In addition to his wife and mom, he was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Pepicello and nephew, Michael Pepicello.

A funeral service celebrating Leroy’s life will be held on Monday November 4, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at Shaeff-Myers Funeral Home located at 145 Tennis Ave, Ambler, PA 19002.
