Richard "Dick" Hill Sr. passed away suddenly, on October 19th, 2016. Born on September 13, 1928 in Philadelphia, PA to Hosea Harold and Ida (Bloom) Hill. He was preceded in death by his wife Melva V. (Rushton) Hill, and great granddaughter Sophia Cervi. He is survived by his son, H. Richard Hill Jr. (Jane) of Roslyn, son, James Hill (Maria Angelucci) of Gilbertsville, and daughter Janet Cervi (Chris) of Hatfield. He is also survived by his grandkids, Tracy Inverso, Machele Nettles, Jonathan Hill, Rebecca Braun, Douglas Cervi, Brittney Hill, Malissa Nettles, H. Richard Hill III, 9 great grandchildren, awaiting 2 more in 2017, and his beloved dog "Pepper". Dick worked for himself with a small family cleaning business. He was a member of the Downs-Amey Post 125 American Legion of Ambler, where he served as an Officer for many years. Dick served as the Justice of the Peace for Ambler, from 1964 until 1971. He loved volunteering for his community as well. He enjoyed boating on the Sassafras River, and summer nights at Indian Acres in Maryland, where his family and friends loved playing "dumb" games. There will be a public viewing on Saturday October 22nd, from 9-1030am at Shaeff-Myers Funeral Home, 145 Tennis Ave, Ambler, followed by private burial for immediate family only. In Lieu of flowers, a donation to the Montco SAAC @ 45 Forest Ave Ambler, PA 19002 can be made.
