Richard Landis

Richard A. Landis, 87, of Lower Gwynedd, passed away Sunday, Febraury 7, 2016 at Abington Memorial. He was the husband of Grace (Montemayor) Landis to whom he was married for over 23 years. Born in Dover, New Jersey on August 27, 1928, he was the son of late Leslie and Margaret Landis. He attended Muhlenberg College, and later served his country in the United States Navy as a Lieutenant Commander and Navy Pilot. Mr. Landis was the Township Supervisor of Lower Gwynedd for many years and developed homes for local communities. He was a member of the Delaware Valley Region Antique Automobile Association and the North Penn Model A Ford Club. Richard Landis was a Rotarian of Ambler, for over 50 years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Susan Shaner and her husband David, Richard Landis and his wife Marian and Scott Landis and his wife Jill, his grandchildren, Laurie Quinn, Julie Shaner (Janick), Christie Shaner, Nicole Landis, Kyle Landis, Matthew Landis and Justin Landis and great granddaughter Elsie Quinn and sibling Margaret (Landis) Benning. Step Children include Victor Montemayor, Linda Montemayor, Gail Burnd and Andrew Montemayor and step granddaughter Victoria Johnson.
