Richard "Rick" Campbell Stevens, Jr.

Richard Campbell Stevens, Jr. passed away suddenly on March 3, 2025 following a brief illness.

Rick was born on August 23, 1952 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Richard Campbell and Yolanda (née Grubmeyer) Stevens. He grew up in the East Falls section of Philadelphia, attending William Penn Charter School. Following high school, he went on to attend the Philadelphia College of Textile and Service before spending a short time at the University of Pennsylvania. 

He joined the family business, the W.H. Stevens Company, helping to manufacture elevator doors. He later became a customer service representative with Health Advocate in Blue Bell. 

Vocationally, Rick was most proud of his side business of running a band, “Small Frye”, which played at numerous weddings, parties, and events. He and the group played for almost 30 years. 

He was a devoted member of the First Presbyterian Church of Ambler, originally joining in 1988, where he served as a past elder. Rick helped form the South Ridge Worship Service at the church, being instrumental with the formation of the worship band. 

Rick is survived by his loving wife, Holly (née Hewitt) Stevens; three children, Christine (Christopher) Adamchak, Kyle Stevens, and Caroline (Matthew Scanlon) Stevens; one sister, Reid Campbell; as well as many nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his oldest sister, Blair Newton. 

A memorial service honoring Rick’s life will be held on Monday March 10, 2025 at 12:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Ambler located at 4 S Ridge Ave, Ambler, PA 19002. Family and friends may call at the church beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be private at a later date. 

In lieu of flowers, Donations in Rick’s name may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Ambler at the above-mentioned address.
