Rosalie M. Cespuglio (nee Farrell), 82, from Ambler, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family on December 4, 2021 after a battle with Interstitial Lung Disease.
Rosalie was born on December 24, 1938, to Anna Novak and Thomas Farrell in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After graduating from Little Flower High School in 1956, she went on to study nursing at St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing. Rosalie worked in a variety of hospital settings until she found her passion setting up specialized dementia care for those suffering from that affliction.
After completing her nursing studies, she held various positions in bedside and administrative nursing. At age 27, she entered the Peace Corp and traveled to Asella, Ethiopia, with a little, round suitcase, where she met Albert Cespuglio. Rosalie and Albert had a love story for the ages, separating after their time was up in Ethiopia, writing love letters and making the decision to begin their lives together. They married in Philadelphia, just days after Albert arrived from France on November 8, 1969.
Albert and Rosalie went on to have three daughters, Mary Kay Plyter-Eigner (Doug), Jane Clark (Brooks) and Susan Cespuglio Bigler (Brian), the pride and joy of her life. Rosalie treasured her grandchildren that she called “my lovies” including Pascal, Lucas, Elijah, Katherine, Hazel, Aiden, and Liam. Ocean City, New Jersey was her happy place where she shared many vacations with her family, and spent time with her beloved sisters, Marguerite Crane, Nancy Malone and many dear nieces and nephews. Every year for her birthday on Christmas Eve and Christmas, she requested peace, love, and kindness. We will aspire to give our angel this gift every day.
Services will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Parish in Ambler, Pennsylvania on December 13, 2021 at 10:30 a.m., with calling hour starting at 9:30 a.m. Luncheon for family and friends to follow.
